Characteristics:

This facility is a manufacturing plant for the production of electric components (including cable trays, cable ducts with extension for Zucchini transformers).

Description, Design Solutions and Challenges:

The main challenge was to adapt the industrial facility built in 1980-es to the needs of the contemporary manufacturing process. Tough deadlines, the Client’s obligations under the investment agreement and a considerable number of approvals from administrative and construction authorities required to seek for unconventional solutions. Thus, for the installation of 70-ton presses, multilayer reinforced foundations were designed. At first glance, the structural solution of the existing building with large spans and insufficient bearing capacity of the materials of the partitions and walls did not allow to implement the required logistics scheme without additional investments. The way out was found by designing a process rack uniting all engineering networks and assuring the shortest way to supply power and other resources to the equipment of the three main manufacturing units at a time.
